WHY DO YOU NEED A CAMEL COAT?
I consider camel coat as one of the most versatile items a girl needs. I know there are amazing black and grey coats but the camel one is just so special. It is perfect for both casual, formal and going out occasions; you may as well wear with sneakers and with heels. I think once you have your perfect camel coat, your wardrobe will become instantly more sophisticated and elegant. The thing here is to choose the right shape and cut for your style. Think of it as as investment piece as once you find your type, you will wear it for years and it will become a key item for your winter capsule wardrobe.
CAMEL COAT AND WINTER ACCESSORIES
Another reason to get a camel coat is that it goes well with so many other colours! You can add grey, yellow, black, white, orange, red, navy etc scarfs, hats, gloves and boots and camel coat will handle these colour combinations. I particularly love wearing crisp white shirts and grey warm jumpers under my camel coat. Black is another colour that just elevates the camel coat to another level of classiness.
MY LOOK IN BURANO
For the day trip to Burano and Torcello from Venice, I went for a black dress, navy over the knee boots, grey shawl and navy bag. The day was sunny but crisp, so I popped a leather jacket under my camel coat as the dress was quite thin. Layering is the key styling technique that I absolutely love and recommend. My camel coat is by Tommy Hilfiger; I got it last year and it has served me really well ever since. The quality is second to none and the cut is so classy that I do not think I will ever get bored of it. (the mysterious light is not the camera effect, it was like a mini rainbow falling on me ;-))
TOP 4 CAMEL COATS
I have chosen 4 different camel coats available now in the shops. The trendy/ sporty one from &otherstories, double breasted coat from Topshop, classic cut with fur cuffs from Zara and long line one from Karen Millen. I like all of them but the winner for me is the coat from Zara; this is what I would go for!
